Fade Time sets how smoothly the light moves from one state to another when you switch scenes. It’s the difference between “the light snaps over instantly” and “the light gently flows across in a couple of seconds”. You pick the time with a single button, and all transitions run with that smoothness.
📍 Where: Live → central zone, the block labeled “Fade” — a row of buttons with times.
How to use it:
- Press the button with the time you want — it lights up.
- From then on, every transition (launching a scene, the crossfader, switching a bank) runs over that time.
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| Cut | Instant, no smoothing (0 s) |
| 0.5s … 15s | A smooth brightness and color transition over the given number of seconds |
Available values: Cut, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 seconds.
💡 Tip: Fade Time affects three things at once — launching scenes, the crossfader A/B, and switching banks. So it’s the global “smoothness” of your console at any given moment.
🎧 For the DJ: on fast dance music, Cut or 0.5s is often handier — sharp changes land on the beat. For slower tracks, 3–8 seconds let the light “breathe”.
🎭 For theater: long times (5–15 s) give soft, cinematic blends between cues.
