The crossfader is a smooth transition between two scenes. Scene A (the current one) is on the left, scene B (the next one) is on the right. You either “flow” manually from A to B with the slider, or press the big GO button — and the program makes a soft transition itself over the set transition time.
📍 Where: Live → central zone, the “Crossfader” block with the big GO button on the right.
How to use it:
- In the dropdown on the left, pick scene A; on the right, scene B.
- From here you have two paths:
— Manually: drag the slider from A to B — the scenes blend, with the percentage shown in the center.
— Automatically: press GO — the transition to scene B runs smoothly over the Fade Time.
- When the transition finishes, scene B becomes the new current scene A — you can prepare the next transition.
| Condition | What’s available |
|---|---|
| Both scenes A and B are selected | The manual slider (blending) is available |
| At least scene B is selected | The GO button is available |
⚠️ Note: while the transition is running, the GO button pulses and shows “…”. If you touch the slider at that moment, the automatic transition is canceled and you’re back to controlling the blend manually.
⚠️ Note: if you recall a scene from the list while a transition is running (or a playlist cue does it), GO is canceled — both a running one and one put on pause. The rig follows the later action and the fader returns to zero. That keeps the interface and the fixtures in step.
💡 Tip: brightness, colour and head position move smoothly during the transition, while “stepped” parameters — gobo pattern, colour-wheel slot, prism, frost — cannot be blended halfway, so they switch at the end of the transition, together with everything else.
💡 Tip: if a playlist is running, scenes A and B can be filled in automatically from its current and next step — all that’s left for you is to press GO.
💡 Tip: in “Quiet scene” mode the GO button becomes “smart” — see the cue transport.
