Blind mode

Blind mode lets you prepare the next scene right during the current one without sending your edits to the room. While it’s on, what’s currently on stage freezes, and you calmly set up colors, positions and launch the upcoming scene — you can see all of it (in the visualizer), but it doesn’t go out to the real fixtures. Turn the mode off and what you prepared instantly appears on stage.

📍 Where: Live → the left column → the “Blind” button (with an eye icon, purple colored). The same mode is also toggled by the Blind switch in the program’s top bar.

How to use it:

  1. Press “Blind”. The button lights up purple and pulses, and a purple reminder banner appears at the top of the window: “Blind mode — edits are NOT sent to the stage.”
  2. Calmly adjust the light: change colors, positions, launch the scene you’re preparing. The room sees none of it.
  3. When the cue is ready, press “Blind” again. The prepared picture goes out to the stage.
🎭 For theater: this is a key tool. While the current cue runs on stage, you assemble the next one behind the curtain and deliver it exactly on command — the audience sees only a clean transition, with no “fiddling” at the console in plain view.
💡 Tip: your cues that the mode is active are the purple pulsing button and the banner at the top. Don’t forget to turn the mode off when you’re done preparing: while it’s on, your actions have no effect on the real light.
⚠️ Warning: Blind mode “freezes” the output to the fixtures but does not stop the show itself — the current scene keeps living. It’s a “screen” for preparation, not a pause.
