The Grand Master is the main brightness control. A single fader that proportionally controls the brightness of all fixtures at once. It’s handy for smoothly bringing up the whole rig at the start of a number, or dimming the entire stage in the finale, without touching individual fixtures.
📍 Where: Live → the far-left block labeled “Master”.
How to use it:
- Grab the vertical “Master” fader and drag: up — brighter, down — darker.
- The current value as a percentage (0% … 100%) is shown below the fader.
- Release it at the level you want — the whole light picture is scaled to match.

💡 Tip: the Grand Master affects the entire DMX output, including the submasters. So it really is the “grand” level — it sits above every other fader.
⚠️ Warning: when the Master is dropped below 50%, the control glows red with increasing intensity toward zero — a reminder that the overall light is dimmed (so you won’t be left wondering later why everything looks so dim).
