For the program to learn about your light, a fixture needs to be added to the project. All the ways are gathered in a single “Add fixture” menu button — from manual creation to recognition from a photo.
Add
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Manually — empty profile | Creates a “blank” and immediately opens the channel editor, where you assign the channels yourself. For those who know their fixture’s layout. |
| From the library | Opens the library of ready-made profiles (built-in database + community). The simplest route — find the model, add it. |
| Extended profile | Opens the fixture constructor to build a complex profile (multi-beam, matrices, etc.). |
Import from file
If you have a profile file from another program — import it (in detail in 02.05):
| Format | From where |
|---|---|
| SvetoMaster (.svf) | A profile saved in our program |
| Freestyler (.fxt/.pff) | From the Freestyler program |
| QLC+ (.qxf) | From the QLC+ program |
Recognize
From a photo (AI) — take a picture of the fixture’s back panel or a page of the manual with the channel table, and the AI recognizes the profile automatically.
After it’s added, the fixture immediately lands on the first free DMX address — you can change it in the patch table.
The fixture is also named automatically, taking the first free sequential number: “PAR can 1”, “PAR can 2” and so on. Copies are named the same way: duplicating a moving head gets the next free number instead of a “(Copy)” suffix. If you delete, say, “PAR can 2”, the freed number goes to the next fixture you add.
The program never rewrites a name you typed yourself: a copy of a fixture called “Wash 575” becomes “Wash 575 2” — the digits of a model name are not turned into a sequence number.
