Strobe

The strobe is rapid flashes of light layered over the current picture. It turns on with a single button and adds drive at the climax of a number. The overlay is non-destructive: the program remembers the fixtures’ original state, and when the strobe is turned off the light returns to exactly how it was.

📍 Where: Live → the left column → the “Strobe” button (with a lightning-bolt icon).

How to use it:

  1. Press “Strobe” — the fixtures start flashing. The button lights up.
  2. To set the strength of the flashes, right-click the button — a small popup opens with an intensity slider, 0–100. (There’s a hint below the button: “Right-click ‘Strobe’ — open/close.”)
  3. Drag the slider — if the strobe is already on, the strength changes immediately, live.
  4. Press “Strobe” again to turn it off.
Parameter What it does Range Default
Intensity Strength/frequency of the strobe flashes 0–100 remembered between launches
💡 Tip: the chosen intensity is saved even after the program restarts — set it once for your room and it’s the same next time.
⚠️ Warning: the strobe only affects fixtures that have a strobe channel. If a fixture isn’t flashing, check in the Patch that its profile has a strobe channel assigned.
💡 Tip: if a lot of live overlays have piled up (strobe + blinder + smoke + colors) and you want to quickly return to a clean picture, hold down the Reset button.
