Live Hotkeys

During a live show, keeping a hand on the keyboard is faster than aiming with the mouse. Below are the keys that come in handy in Live. The full list of all shortcuts is in the program itself — in the “Keyboard shortcuts” window.

Work in any mode (including Live):

Key Action
Space Blackout (on/off)
T TAP — tap the tempo
S (hold) Strobe — while held
D (hold) Blinder — while held
G (hold) Smoke — while held
H Highlight the selected fixtures
Alt + 2 Switch to Live mode (Alt+1 — Programming, 3 — Patch, 4 — Console, 5 — AI)

Live mode only:

Key Action
1–8 (hold) Flash a submaster — instantly to 100% while held
Ctrl + 1 … 0 Switch banks (Ctrl+0 = bank 10)
F Freeze — freeze the output
Esc Clear the temporary color/position override
💡 Tip: to start, remember four keys — Space (kill everything), T (catch the tempo), S and D (strobe and blinder on hold). That’s enough to confidently “play the light” by hand while looking at the room instead of the screen.
⚠️ Note: the flash keys S / D / G and 1–8 work while you hold them. Release them and the effect is removed at once. This is intentional: a flash should be short and controllable.
